Government
Purcellville operates under the Council-Manager form of government. The Council consists of six members and a Mayor. Council members are elected at large and serve four-year terms, which are staggered. The Mayor is elected for a two-year term.

The Town Manager is appointed by the Town Council to serve as chief administrative officer.
